Triathlon and Duathlon Results

Well done to everyone who entered the first ever Newton Longville Triathlon, it was an incredible event, with some great displays of athleticism and sportsmanship alike.

With the largest race course ever created around the school, children were challenged with a two lap scooter race around the playground, followed by a quick transition into a two lap bicycle race around the field and then a quick sprint out of the school, along the path on School Drive and back through the car park and Foundation area, to finish back in front of the spectators on the playground.

All the races were incredible, with many children overcoming tiredness, fatigue and set back, finishing their own races in style.

Across the day, we saw some amazing acts of pure athleticism, such as Toby in Year 6, who won the Triathlon race in record time and then went onto lead his team of Trey and Drew (in Green House) to a record breaking win in the Triathlon relay. As well as Holly.S in Year 4 who showed tremendous commitment as she won the individual Duathlon and later won the girls 3/4 cross country race.

But the day wasn’t just about individual events, as points were collected from all the races (2 duathlons, 2 triathlons and 9 cross country races) and added to make a grand total, which ultimately led to Red House winning the Triathlon cup.

Well done to every, a massive congratulations to Red House and of course a huge thank you to the Police and parents who helped bring this amazing event together.
